As concerned native citizens of this amazing country, we feel an obligation to make it clear that this Documentary is designed to bring a clear light to just one essential aspect of a very pressing issue: Our getting free from our bondage to OPEC, and creating much needed high-paying jobs for a country's citizens. Nevertheless, we are not ignorant to the fact that our nation also needs to be fully engaged in bringing forth newer and better technologies for a sustainable future.

• Explore the charming East Texas town of Van, a community built among an active, producing oil field, to discover what we can learn from the townsfolk who have been living, raising children, tending herds, and fishing the local lake, all in the presence of around-the-clock oil extraction for generations.

• Through exploration of this proud, East Texas township, lies endeavor to support or refute a number of concerns.   Aim will also focus toward why the price of oil is at current levels, and why not further drilling under our own feet, instead of buying large quantities of oil from foreign countries?

• Is liberty from foreign oil feasible? How much would domestic production need to increase to meet national consumption? How do American’s feel or relate to knowing that nearly half of the oil consumed comes from foreign countries – with prices are spiraling out of control?

• Are environmentalist concerns well founded? Is there evidence that the industry is capable of safely tapping available oil reserves in America’s most precious wilderness? What are the risk factors, and does the industry have adequate safeguards built into their production methods to preserve native lands and wildlife while delivering this resource.
